What happens at Hyperborean Demos' public rituals?

Hyperborean Demos holds several public rituals throughout the year, usually one every other month. They always focus on a particular deity or deities and have a specific theme. Scripts for some of our past rituals can be found here. Weather permitting, rituals are often performed outside in the park. A bare bones skeleton of our rituals looks like this:

• Purification of participants with water/baking and ritual space with soda/salt
• Lighting of the hearth fire
• Libation to Hestia
• Reading of a Homeric and/or Orphic Hymn
• Litany to the deity/ies at the focus of the festival
• Libation to the deity/ies at the focus of the festival
• Libation to the Olympians as a group
• Sacrifice (barley and/or a portion of the feast)
• Activities (performance, presentation, craft, etc.)
• Feast
• Closing libation to the Olympians
• Closing libation to the deity/ies at the focus of the ritual
• Closing libation to Hestia
• Final exclamation
• Clean up

As in ancient times, the focus is both on honoring our divinities and on coming together as a community in celebration.
